Beautiful card -I'm wishing for the sun!

Hi everyone!  I have a sunny happy card to share today. I made this to cheer myself up because I'm sitting here on yet another cold and rainy day.  Boy oh boy I want summer to get here!!
My card uses the stamp set, Hello Lovely and I love how cheery it is.  It has 3 sunflower, 3 adorable bees and 4 sentiments!!  I also used my much neglected Steel Rule die called Fab Tabs.  This die has 10 tabs in a variety of shapes and sizes.  They are primarily meant for Memory Keeping and Planners, but I love to cut them in half and use on cards for little accent banners!  Both the bees and the center of my sunflower have Journey Glaze on them and on the flower I sprinkled it with Sparkle Dust!  Super fun.
I watercolored the images.  Shocking, I know, but I have found a super easy to do this and it's become my go-to way to color now.  I just color the image directly with the Color Splash pencils and get my brush wet and lightly smooth out the color.  Done, easy!  I still struggle with creating fabulous backgrounds, but this is a good start for us technique challenged crafters.  Am I right?!!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Happy Easter card using White Liner sheets

Hi Everyone!  Happy Easter weekend!  Boy April sure snuck up on me -I haven't even begun to think about my boy's baskets, yikes!  I have an Easter card to share showcasing our Summer Pretties Punch.  I punched the flowers from Banana Cream, Pretty Amethyst and Deep Lilac and popped them up to make the simple background.  The sentiment die is from the Spring Celebrations set which a set of 4 cute spring holiday sayings.
I love our White Liner sheets as they can turn any die cut into glittery goodness!  I used that technique with the sentiment die.  Here are the few simple steps:
1. Peel back one side of the White liner sheet (the plain white side) and stick it to your cardstock.
2. Place the die on the adhesive side (which will be showing the gray flowers), not the cardstock side. *It is important to die cut on the gray flowers side of the adhesive sheet as the other side is a bit gummier and is harder to die cut through.
3. Run it through your machine as normal.
4. Once you have your die cut, peel back the liner and sprinkle with Sparkle dust.
Pretty easy.  I tried it with several colors of cardstock and ending up using the scraps to punch the tiniest flower as accents.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend! Here is a close up of the glittery goodness!

Ears to You Easter card

Hi everyone!  It's been a month since I've blogged.  So, back in January I herniated my disc in my lower back and have been mostly out of commission ever since.  It's been a slow road, but thankfully the disc is no longer herniated and I'm working on a course of treatment to help with the lingering back and nerve pain.  FSJ has been wonderful and allowed me to reduce my working hours by 1/2 while I am dealing with this.  I'm blessed to have such an amazing employer!

So today I have a cute little Easter card to share.  I made this for a publication submission and since it was not accepted I can share it with you all!  I used the ATS All Ears (and it's matching die) and I think this bunny is just the CUTEST thing ever.  I love her popping up from inside the circle frame in front the Beach Towel embossed pink cardstock.

The Bow Tie patterned paper in the background is from the new Sweet Spring Printed Paper 6x6 pad.   I added a touch of Journey Glaze to her little ears and paper pieced her bowtie.  And I think it turned out pretty cute!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening!

Le Cafe Bonjour card

Hi everyone!  I have a fun card to share today.  I finally had a chance to play with the Le Cafe stamp set and I just love it's style and feel!  I don't sponge my edges very often, but I think it goes nicely with the artsy vintage feel of this stamp set.
For my background, I used the Whimsy Wallpaper background stamp.  I stamped it on Pretty Amethyst cardstock with Clear pigment ink and embossed with clear powder.  I love this technique - it gives such a rich look.
I used some of the new Sweet Candy dots as my accents and I loooove the colors in this pack.  There's even white- Woohoo!  I added some of the Sparkle Dust on the die cuts and coffee steam for the finishing touches.

Thanks for stopping by and here's a close up shot of the background embossing detail.

Pink ribbon water color card

Hi everyone!  A very good crafty friend of mine is currently fighting breast cancer and I wanted to send her a card letting her know I am thinking about her and supporting her in her fight!  #beastmode!

I used the amazing stamp set Be Brave and my pink ribbon image is heat embossed with clear powder and popped up over the card front die, Artful Burst.  Yes, you read that right - I said heat embossed, because FSJ inks are a hybrid you CAN emboss with clear powder!  Behind that, I have a pink ombre water colored panel.  I am still a novice when it comes to water coloring, but I found this pretty easy to do!  Here's a picture of what it looked like before I trimmed it up and used is as a background.
I used Watercolor Splash pencils 005, 006, 007 and 048
